What's New In Hula Booth: Version 1.2.0

Hula Booth Version 1.2.0 brings to you three new features. Update or download the app to make the most of Still Images mode, multiples modes in events, and manual exposure.

It’s an exciting time to be a Hula Booth user as this month we’re rolling out one of our biggest updates yet!

We’ve heard your cries, and now we’re answering them. Today marks the day that we are releasing Hula Booth Version 1.2.0 which along with standard bug fixes, will bring with it three new features for image modes.

Still Images

Whilst GIFs and Bursts are awesome, nothing beats a good old-fashioned photo.

Still Images mode will be coming to you with all of the standard features such as Countdown Timer, Aspect Ratio, Overlays and Logos. However, an added little bonus is that with Still Images comes the ability to print photos on the spot! Our suggestions are to use either Google Cloud Print, Mac Automator or Hot Folder Monitoring to set up automatic printing when the Still Images feature becomes available.

If you’re unfamiliar with these programs, we’ll soon be uploading a demo screencast guiding you through the process of printing your stills.

Hot Tips:

  • Choosing the ‘rectangle’ option under Aspect Ratio will make it easier to print still images at your event
  • Square photos are a great choice if users are more likely to want to upload their photos directly to social media, so there’s no need for cropping.

Currently, Still Images mode is only capable of taking single photos. However, keep an eye out for a Strips mode in 2019!

Multiple Modes

This is something to really get excited about! In this update, we’re really trying to make your parties something special. Now you will have the option to enable one, two, or three modes in any event. If you choose to enable all three, once you start your event, your guests will have the ability to pick and choose from taking a photo, making a GIF, or making a burst GIF.

Manually Adjust Exposure

At events, the lighting conditions are usually out of our control, and often they don’t provide for the best image quality. In this new update, you will now have the option to manually adjust the exposure levels on all Stills, GIFs and Burst GIFs. Choose from the default settings or manual, which will allow you to adjust ISO, White Balance (Red), White Balance (Green), and White Balance (Blue). While this feature may be helpful in bringing a bit of light into images, it also makes for a good opportunity to get a little creative! We’d love to see how our users put this new feature to work, so feel free to send your snaps through to us.
